In a continuation of my project Middle Eastern Promises and wishing to create a singular image from both photographs, I proceeded with the creation of a blended version, combining the old and the current in one circular image. The photographs mesh strongly together, with some surprising and unexpected visual results. The blended version could be considered a modern-day interpretation of how time effected those places in the last 114 years.

I believe that these works, seen either via a stereoscope or as a single blended image, provide an interesting perspective on the topology of history. Within the specific context of Israel and Palestine the photographs take on the political issues of fluctuating borders and the very particular impact power and politics has unleashed on the land.
